About
Keyaki is one of Singapore's most enduring Japanese fine dining institutions, perched on the fourth floor of Pan Pacific Singapore and surrounded by a beautifully sculpted Japanese garden and koi pond. The restaurant has built a loyal following among Japanese expats and local diners over decades — drawn by the breadth and authenticity of its menu, which spans kaiseki, live teppanyaki, sukiyaki, sashimi, and seasonal specials. Executive Japanese Chef Teruya Noriyoshi brings a genuinely global perspective: trained in the USA, Japan, Europe and at sea, and having worked alongside legends including Chef Masaharu Morimoto at Nobu New York. The kitchen is particularly celebrated for its seasonal kaiseki menus and for its live teppanyaki counter, where watching wagyu being seared tableside is theatre as much as dinner. Tatami and western private dining rooms are available for occasions that call for complete privacy.

A guide to the full Keyaki experience — traditional Japanese in a garden setting.
Arrival — The Japanese Garden
Keyaki sits within a traditional Japanese garden on Level 4 of Pan Pacific Singapore — an unlikely oasis in the CBD. Take a moment to walk through the garden before entering. The transition from hotel lobby to garden pavilion is the experience beginning.
Opening — Seasonal Kaiseki Starters
Keyaki's kaiseki menu follows the seasons rigorously. Begin with the sakizuke — a single bite that sets the seasonal theme — followed by hassun, an assortment of small dishes representing the current season's best produce.
Teppanyaki Option — Tableside Theatre
Keyaki is one of the few restaurants in Singapore offering both kaiseki and full teppanyaki. The teppanyaki counter seats guests directly around the grill — a complete contrast to the garden pavilion dining experience, and worth booking separately.
The Main Course — Yakimono & Mushimono
The grilled course (yakimono) typically features premium A5 wagyu or seasonal fish. The steamed course (mushimono) brings a more delicate counterpoint. Both arrive at a pace designed for conversation — Keyaki does not rush.
Finale — Mizugashi & Matcha
The kaiseki concludes with mizugashi — a seasonal fruit selection — and wagashi, traditional Japanese confections paired with matcha. A quiet, unhurried ending that reflects the spirit of the garden setting.
Editor's Note
Keyaki is the kind of Japanese restaurant that rewards loyalty — each visit reveals something new, whether that's a seasonal kaiseki addition, a pufferfish special, or simply Chef Teruya's latest interpretation of a classic. For a first visit, the kaiseki omakase (from S$150++) is the most complete introduction to the kitchen's range. If you're coming for teppanyaki at dinner, note that counter guests are required to order the Teppanyaki Set Menu. The serene Japanese garden setting makes this an ideal spot for family dinners or small group celebrations — request the tatami private room for a traditional touch. The lunch sets (from S$55++) offer excellent value for a CBD setting of this calibre.
