Who We Are
Umami Compass is operated by MK EFT Academy Japan合同会社. Our editorial team is led by Kentaro Umezawa, who brings experience spanning technology, consulting, and years of deep engagement with Japanese food culture across Japan and Southeast Asia.
Editorial Standards
Every restaurant page on Umami Compass is researched and written by our editorial team. We follow these principles:
- Information is verified against official restaurant websites, menus, and public sources before publication
- We never fabricate facts — prices, hours, addresses, and menu items are sourced from verifiable references
- AI tools are used to assist with drafting and translation; all content is reviewed and edited by our editorial team
- Each restaurant page includes a "Last verified" date showing when information was last checked
- Editorial recommendations are independent — restaurants cannot pay for favorable coverage
