About Kagami
Kagami is Singapore's first shabu-sukiyaki omakase — 16 courses served individually like sushi omakase, but with hot pot. S$80++ including A5 wagyu. Opened July 2025 at Orchard Plaza, same building as Sage.
Alternates between shabu (dashi broth) and sukiyaki (sweet soy + egg). Stars: A5 Hida wagyu, A5 wagyu, snow crab legs, Hokkaido pork. 16 individual moments, paced like great sushi omakase.
Small, dark, atmospheric — 7 counter + private room. Same team as Yuta next door. Two seatings nightly. Sake pairing S$50++ matched to broths. At S$80++ for 16 courses including A5 wagyu and snow crab, possibly the best-value omakase in Orchard.

What's in the 16 Courses
Every sitting includes: A5 Hida wagyu, A5 wagyu, A3 wagyu, Hokkaido pork, snow crab, seasonal seafood, tofu, vegetables. Half shabu, half sukiyaki. Heavy and light courses alternate.
All prices subject to service charge and GST. One menu only.

The Counter & The Two Pots
Settle into 7 counter seats. Two pots simmering: clear dashi for shabu, amber soy for sukiyaki. Raw egg waits as dip. One menu. The journey begins.
The Wagyu Courses
A5 Hida wagyu paper-thin — seconds in dashi, transformed: creamy, rich. Next wagyu via sukiyaki + raw egg dip. A3 follows. Seasonal seafood and vegetables between for palate-cleansing contrast.
Snow Crab & Hokkaido Pork
Snow crab in concentrated dashi — sweet, tender, light after wagyu richness. Hokkaido pork in sukiyaki absorbs sweet soy. 16 courses paced: heavy, light, heavy, light — pleasure, not obligation.
The Final Courses
Closes with rice/noodle in deeply enriched broth. Dessert. 16 courses of A5 wagyu, snow crab, Hokkaido pork — S$80++. With sake: under S$160++. The most affordable A5 wagyu omakase on the strip, hidden on the second floor.
Editor's Note
Kagami is Orchard's biggest surprise. Shabu-sukiyaki omakase is genuinely new. S$80++ for A5 Hida wagyu and 16 courses — almost unbelievable. Only 13 seats, book ahead. Orchard Plaza isn't glamorous. One menu, no flexibility. Compared to shabu buffets: premium. Compared to wagyu omakases: hot pot at lower price. Its own excellent lane.
