Omoté Soho

🐟 Fusion Chirashi Dons 🍄 Truffle & Lobster Specials 🎨 Vibrant Pastel Interior 💰 S$19–33 🍶 Rooftop Izakaya Vibe

What Makes Omoté Soho Special

The Chirashi
Not traditional chirashi — fusion bowls with pre-marinated sashimi in signature sauces. Thick, generous cuts over Niigata rice.
The Origin
Originally a 12-seat sushi bar called 'Sushiro', rebranded 2018. Novena 'Soho' opened Jan 2023. Chef Nagae Toshiharu.
The Vibe
Pastel colours, booth seating, bar seats, Top 40s soundtrack. More vibrant than the Thomson Plaza flagship.

About Omoté Soho

Originally Sushiro, a 12-seat counter at Thomson Plaza. Rebranded to Omoté when the mega-chain arrived. Chef Nagae pivoted to fusion chirashi — now the defining identity.

Omoté Soho opened January 2023 at Velocity Novena. The most colourful outlet — pastel blues, pinks, turquoise. Top 40s music. Japanese food for the Instagram generation.

The chirashi dons are bold departures from tradition — sashimi pre-marinated in signature sauces. Cuts are notably thick, almost chunks rather than slices. Photographs beautifully, eats even better.

Your Dining Journey

01

Arrive & Soak In the Colours

Level 3 Velocity. Pastel energy. Grab a booth or bar seat. The chirashi section is where the magic lives.

02

Choose Your Bowl

First-timer: Umami Soy (S$19.80). Truffle lover: S$23.80. Each bowl arrives overflowing with thick sashimi chunks.

03

Add a Side

Black Truffle Chawanmushi is luxurious. Karatsuki Scallop Motoyaki for cheesy indulgence.

04

The Bowl Arrives

The Instagram moment. Start with lightest fish, move to fattier pieces. Mix the rice from the bottom — the sauce-soaked last bites are the best.

Editor's Note

Not traditional chirashi — and that is by design. The fusion marinades work. Thick, fresh fish over Niigata rice. The Truffle Roasted Garlic Chirashi is the one to get. Novena is less crowded than Thomson Plaza.
