The Story
Founded 1954 Yamanashi. Name = French château + grapes. Japan's #1 patisserie (480+). Vertically integrated: own farms, factory, Hakushu water. That's why quality is high and prices are low.
Entered SG 2015. 30+ outlets now. Every product made in Japan factory, imported directly. Not local franchise. Your TBP cream puff = same as Shinjuku. Made in Japan + S$2.80 = unbeatable value.

Wagashi vs Yogashi
Two Japanese sweet traditions: wagashi (traditional) + yogashi (Western-style). Châteraisé bridges both. Japanese yogashi = less sugar, lighter cream, natural ingredients. Accessible prices for everyone.
Experience
Compact display counter in malls. No seats (except YATSUDOKI). Point, box, pay — 2-3 min. Grab a cream puff while shopping, a whole cake for birthday, or assorted box for office.
First visit: Double Fantasy Cream Puff (S$2.20) — eat within 30 min. Then Strawberry Shortcake. Cheese lovers: Baked Cheese Tart. Traditional: Dorayaki. Seasonal: ask staff — Shine Muscat season is the highlight.
YATSUDOKI やつどき
Premium sub-brand at Guoco Tower (Tanjong Pagar MRT). Full café with seating + coffee. Elevated pastries. Higher prices but still competitive. The sit-down Châteraisé experience.
Comparisons
vs BreadTalk/Four Leaves: different category (Japanese sweet vs local bread). Châteraisé cakes lighter, less sweet, made in Japan.
vs Lady M / Patisserie G: premium at 3-5x price. Lady M wins on mille crêpe. But Châteraisé competes at a fraction of cost. Value: Châteraisé wins decisively.
vs Gokoku Bakery: bread vs cake. Complementary, not competitive. Both made in Japan.

Tips
Birthday cakes: order 1-2 days ahead for weekends. Strawberry Cream Cake (~S$38-42) is the most popular. Beautifully boxed with ice packs. Eat within 3-4 hours.
Gifting: assorted gift boxes = excellent presents. Castella + dorayaki boxes for CNY, Hari Raya, corporate. Elegant packaging. 'Made in Japan' adds value.
Ice cream section often overlooked. Japanese flavours at S$2-4. Matcha ice cream bar = staff favourite recommendation. Genuine Japanese ice cream at convenience store prices.
Best eaten day of purchase. Refrigerate immediately. Cream puffs: eat ASAP (shell softens). Castella: 2-3 days in fridge OK. Never freeze-thaw cream cakes.

Editor's Note
Most impressive value in SG's Japanese food scene. Double Fantasy cream puff hooks everyone. Strawberry shortcake = gold standard. Takeaway counter (not café). Dessert only. As a dessert destination: unbeatable.
