The Millenia Walk Saboten — same gold-standard tonkatsu, slightly less crowded than the main CBD outlet. Worth the short walk from Suntec.

Your Dining Journey

01

Grind Your Sesame First

Grind the roasted sesame yourself. Mix into the tonkatsu sauce. The freshly ground sesame genuinely enhances the flavour.

02

Start with the Cabbage

Don't skip the cabbage. Ice-cold, crisp, with yuzu and sesame. Eat before the katsu. Staff refill without asking.

03

The Katsu Itself

Loin katsu: thick, juicy. Tenderloin: leaner, tender. Both golden-brown, audibly crispy. Key test: it should NOT taste oily.

04

Finish with Matcha Ice Cream

Matcha ice cream included. Cuts the richness. Upgrade flavours for S$0.80.

05

Explore Millenia Walk

Nihon Food Street has Tenshima and Kurama on the same floor. Connects to Suntec City and Esplanade waterfront.

Editor's Note

What to know before you go

Reliable, not exciting. Consistently good for 10+ years. Honest: compact space, walk-in waits at lunch, water S$0.50. The kind of place where you get exactly what you expect, done well, every time.
