Understanding Warabimochi
🍡 Warabimochi わらび餅
Warabimochi ≠ regular mochi. Made from bracken fern root starch (not rice flour). Silky, jiggly, translucent, melts on tongue. Heian-era aristocratic delicacy. 100% warabiko = the real deal.
Editor's Note
Genuinely different from bubble tea. 100% bracken starch is noticeably silkier. Drinks are premium boba alternatives. Caveats: kiosk only (no ambience), boxes must be eaten same day, portions may feel small for price, weekend queues. A real recommendation for Japanese confectionery lovers.
