Yakiniku Like
Why Yakiniku Like
About
Yakiniku Like (焼肉ライク) is a solo-dining Japanese BBQ restaurant chain operated by Japan Foods Holdings Ltd (JFH), one of Singapore's largest Japanese restaurant groups listed on the SGX. JFH also operates Ajisen Ramen, Tokyo Shokudo, Konjiki Hototogisu, Menya Musashi, and Osaka Ohsho — over 50 Japanese restaurants in Singapore. Yakiniku Like is the halal equivalent of JFH's Yakiniku Taro brand.
The concept centres on personal tabletop grills where diners cook their own meat — a core element of the Japanese yakiniku tradition. The menu features beef cuts (karubi, sirloin, tongue, wagyu), chicken, stone bowls, curry rice, and ramen. All meats are solo-dining and pre-marinated. Multiple dipping sauces provided.
With 10 outlets across Singapore, Yakiniku Like has become one of the most accessible halal yakiniku options in the country. Solo-dining Japanese BBQ is extremely rare in Singapore — Yakiniku Like fills a genuine gap for Solo diners who want the interactive yakiniku experience.
Compass Verdict
Solo yakiniku reinvented — individual grills, fast service, sets from S$8.80. No need to wait for friends or feel awkward eating BBQ alone. A Tokyo concept that found a loyal audience in Singapore. The Wagyu & Karubi Set is the value sweet spot.

Editor's Note
Yakiniku Like fills a genuine gap: solo-dining yakiniku. The Beef Karubi Set at S$9.90 is an affordable entry point. Honest caveats: portions can be small, service varies by outlet. The Shokudo Set is the best sampler. For Solo diners who want interactive yakiniku, this is currently the most accessible option in Singapore.
