Your Dining Journey

1

Choose Your Format

A la carte at any location, or the ramen buffet at Guoco Tower (S$28.80++) to sample all 8 varieties in half-portions.

2

Start with the Signature

Kiwami Tonkotsu is the benchmark — 10-hour broth with melt-on-tongue pork cheek chashu. Go Black for garlic depth, Red for spicy heat.

3

Order the Gyoza

Gyoza is a signature — crispy, juicy, with sharp black vinegar soy dipping. Pair with a Kiwami Freezer in the evening.

4

Try the Mazesoba

Chicken Nanban Mazesoba is a nice change — crispy chicken + tartar sauce on dry noodles. Comes with soup on the side. Great buffet variety.

5

Buffet Strategy

Buffet strategy: start with Kiwami Tonkotsu, work through Black, Red, Yuzu. Try Mala and Mazesoba for variety. 5-6 bowls is realistic in 90 min. Don't forget the soft-serve.

Editor's Note

Kiwami delivers on its premium positioning. The 10-hour broth is genuinely rich, the pork cheek chashu melts on the tongue, and the Hokkaido noodles hold up. The ramen buffet at S$28.80++ is good value for variety seekers. Gyoza and Freezer cocktails make it a great after-work spot. JEM (March 2026) is the newest location.

How to Visit

Most outlets are located in major shopping malls across Singapore, easily accessible by MRT. No reservations are needed — simply walk in. During peak lunch hours (12:00–1:30pm) and dinner hours (6:00–7:30pm), expect short waiting times at popular outlets.

Understanding the Cuisine

Japanese cuisine is built on core principles that elevate even the simplest dishes. Umami — the fifth taste — is central. Balance is everything. Presentation matters. Seasonality drives the menu.

The Pursuit of Perfection: What Kiwami Means

Kiwami (極) translates to 'ultimate' or 'pinnacle' in Japanese — and the name signals exactly what this ramen concept aims to deliver. Where chain ramen optimises for consistency and speed, Kiwami optimises for quality: deeper broths, better noodles, more carefully sourced toppings. The result is ramen that sits between a standard chain bowl and a standalone artisan ramen-ya — offering the convenience and reliability of a chain with a noticeable step up in ingredient quality. For ramen lovers who have outgrown basic chain ramen but do not want the wait times and premium prices of independent shops, Kiwami fills a genuine niche. Think of it as the 'business class' of chain ramen — not the extravagance of first class, but a meaningful upgrade from economy that you notice from the first spoonful of broth.

Ordering Tips for First-Timers

Start with the signature dish — it is the item the kitchen has perfected and the reason the chain built its reputation. If dining with friends, order a variety to share and discover favourites together. Lunch sets typically offer 20-30% better value than à la carte ordering. Follow the restaurant's social media for seasonal promotions and limited-time specials. Most outlets accept walk-ins only, so arriving at 11:30am or after 1:30pm avoids the worst lunch queues.

Chain Ramen vs Artisan Ramen: Where Kiwami Sits

Singapore's ramen market has a clear divide: chain ramen and artisan ramen. Kiwami deliberately positions itself in the gap between these two segments.
