Editor's Note
Monster Curry Bugis: best Japanese curry at Bugis. Demi-glace sauce genuinely superior. Cheese Omelette is the star. Monster Combo = great sharing value. 5-level spice is fun. Honest downsides: katsu can be heavy/oily, portions not as 'monster' as name implies, sauce can be sweet. Best curry at Bugis: clear winner.
Japanese Curry 101
Japanese curry ≠ Indian curry — milder, sweeter, thicker comfort food. Monster Curry's 2-day demi-glace is a tier above standard roux. Curry rice is Japan's #1 comfort food — eaten 3-4x/month, more than ramen.
Spice Level Guide
Spice guide: 0 = sweet/mild (kids). 1 = gentle warmth. 2 = our recommended start (curry is still the star). 3 = genuine spice. 4 = serious heat. 5 = extreme (challenge only, not for flavour). Best: Level 2 for taste, Level 3 for kick.
Monster vs CoCo
Monster vs CoCo: CoCo = efficient, standardized. Monster = richer sauce, sharing plates, more fun. Solo → CoCo. With friends → Monster.
